Bruce Bay is a stony beach just across the road from the Hokitika Anglers Clubhouse. Parking is alongside the main road, but it is interesting to stop because of the messages that people left on the white stones they have collected.

We didn't know about Bruce Bay as we were driving north, but stopped to see why others had already stopped there.

One of the features of the West Coast beaches is the white marble-like stones that have washed down from the mountains, and it seems that hundreds of visitors have collected these, and written short messages on them, and then stacking them up alongside the parking area.

There is nothing else here except the Hokitika Anglers clubhouse on the other side of the road - so presumably there is good fishing to be had.

We just enjoyed stopping there for the novelty value, and leaving a message for posterity.
