The is a large reserve along the shores of Lake Ferry where you can picnic, go for a walk along the water's edge, or just chill out and enjoy the view.

This is a beautiful location, especially on the fine autumn day that we visited. It is likely to be quite popular over the summer holiday season, but there is plenty of room.

The lake level was higher than normal at the time we visited, following some heavy rain over the previous week. Consequently, the walking track along the lake edge was covered over.

The prominent No Camping sign at each entrance was a bit unfriendly - and ambiguous as well, as this would normally not apply to self-contained motor caravanners. However, there was no indication on the sign that this was the case, possibly because of the campsite next door.

If you are self-contained, and would like to park overnight, then be sure to ask one of the local people. It should be ok.
