Dunhams Point Reserve is nestled in a native forest with access to the Waikato river.

Self-contained caravans and campervans can stay the first two nights free then a camping permit is required for a longer stay. Camping in tents and vehicles requires a camping permit. This can be purchased from the South Waikato District Council offices or the district’s Information Centres. Click here for full details on the council website.

These can be purchased at the council offices, or information centres in Tokoroa, Putaruru or Tirau. They can also be purchased at the Dam Cafe in Whakamaru.

It's a very quiet, somewhat isolated location, but there is a stunning view over the Waikato river at the very end of the reserve.
