Little Bay Reserve is right on the beach front in a small community in Little Bay. Motor caravanners can freedom camp if certified self-contained.

With a sheltered, north facing golden sand beach, and safe swimming and fishing, the only thing not to like is the long winding gravel road to get there.

It is not a large reserve, and there is only designated parking for around 3 motorhomes close together.  So, be sure to arrive early if you want to stay overnight, especially during the summer holiday season.

In the worst case, you might drive for 30 minutes over the winding gravel road from Colville only to find that there is no allocated room. And, even though there might be plenty of empty space in the parking area, you risk a $200 fine if you decide to stay anyway.

The closest alternative is the Waikawau Bay DOC campsite. Failing that, you'll need to head back to Colville. So, if you leave it too late in the afternoon, you could find yourselves looking for a place to overnight in the dark - not much fun.
