Shuping about to enjoy her Bluff oysters
Viewing platform outside the cafe
The Drunken Sailor Cafe and Bar offers spectacular views over Bluff harbour, as well as an excellent menu, including the famous, and very fresh, Bluff oysters
Shuping was really looking forward to trying some fresh Bluff oysters in Bluff, so we drove down from Invercargill and found parking just around the corner from the Drunken Sailor Cafe and Bar.
There is a parking area right outside the cafe, but it was already full when we arrived. It was a warm and sunny Sunday afternoon, and the area was filled with visitors.
There are also walks around the shoreline, including the Stirling Point Pilot Station, and a long walk around the forest reserve.
The cafe was busy, but we didn't have to wait for a table. Shuping raved about her Bluff oysters, but I contented myself with a chicken salad, which was also very good.
Having enjoyed a very nice lunch, with a stunning view, we decided that we needed the exercise, and did the hour long walk around the Bluff Hill walkway.
Overall, we had a really great afternoon - Bluff exceeded our expecations!
