The Clifden Swing Bridge is the longest bridge of its type in New Zealand, and is now maintained as a heritage attraction, with a small picnic reserve adjacent.

The view from the bridge, in both directions over the Waiau River, are stunning - especially in autumn.

The reserve is quite small, and has a long-drop toilet. It would be a nice spot for a picnic lunch.

The main carpark has a metal surface, and is available for free overnight parking for self-contained motor caravans.
