Ohau Point Lookout has a viewing platform overlooking a large seal colony. There is a large roadside parking area.
This is one of our iconic attractions, and many visitors stop to have a look at seals in their natural environment.
You can see seals all along the rugged Kaikoura coastline, as well as in many other places around the South Island. But this has one of the largerst colonies and is well worth stopping if you haven't done so before.
It's not a suitable location to stay overnight as it's right along the side of the main road.
